Meeting Kelly Corrigan

My friend, Jennifer, suggested a book to me awhile back called "The Middle Place" by Kelly Corrigan.  I loved the book and really enjoyed the author and her style of writing.  She seemed to be pretty down to earth and just a typical mom, wife, daughter, etc.  And, she had a great sense of humor.  I was pleasantly surprised to find out that she would be at a local book store for a reading of her new book, "Lift".  So, I headed over to check it out.

Before the reading, Chase wanted to check out the Children's section so we headed over.  There was another mom and her two girls in there looking at the bookshelves.  Chase, being the friendly boy he is, ran up to the girls and said, "HI!".  Their mom told them to say hi back and then she turned around to introduce herself to me...."Hi, my name is Kelly".  Yep, it was Kelly Corrigan.  It was so nice to have a one on one conversation with her for a few minutes before her reading.  And, yes...she is as down to earth as I thought she would be.

I was lucky enough to be in the front row for her discussion.  Chase sat with her girls in the Children's section during that time.

It was a great night and so wonderful meet a great author!
