Minneapolis Trip - Day One

Our plans for our Minneapolis trip got changed around a bit this week.  We had planned on driving part way Saturday night and then completing the trip on Sunday.  However, a storm was making its way to Minnesota, so we drove straight through on Saturday.  We made good time.  It took us about 13 1/2 hours and we got in around 2:00 am. 

After crashing at the first hotel we could find and sleeping in the next day, we headed to the Embassy Suites where we would be staying for the next two days.  We made the right decision driving straight through because the storm was in full force Sunday and we ended up getting about a foot of snow. 

Luckily, this leg of the drive was only a few miles.

Once we were settled into our hotel, we decided to take the shuttle over to the Mall of America for dinner and to let Chase check out Nickelodeon Universe and Lego World.  Needless to say, he was in awe!

After the mall, we enjoyed some drinks and snacks at the Manager's reception.  Al then stayed down to wait for some of his staff to arrive and Chase and I went to the room to crash.  The storm continued all night.
