The Big Clean....

Ok, ok...everybody says this after the New Year..."Let's get this place cleaned and organized!".  Some of my friends have already started and I have heard stories of all the stuff they have piled in their garages ready for donating or garbage pickup.  We decided to take this task on!  I think that getting this house organized and getting rid of a lot of the junk will get rid of a lot of the STRESS!!

So, here we go!!!

We divided the house into sections and are doing a section a day.  First up:  the laundry room, back entry, back closet and bathroom.  We took the laundry room apart and cleaned both the washer and dryer, reorganized the cupboards and the entire room. It looks great!  However, Ozzie is a bit miffed that we moved his food to the opposite wall!  We cleaned out the closet and made a pile of "get this stuff out of our house".  And, we scrubbed all the walls, trim and floors.  The first section looks great, but we will see how long it lasts!

Today:  Chase's bedroom, the playroom, Chase's bathroom, the linen closet and upstairs hallway.

The reorganized Laundry Room (it will look even better once the clothes get to the consignment store).  I used a Magic Eraser on the washer and dryer and they look brand spankin' new!!!

The back entry closet.  This used to hold our vacuum cleaner, steam cleaner and a bunch of junk on the top shelf.  We decided it would serve better as our coat/shoe closet since we use the back door more than the front.  "Light bulb going off" moment there!!

A small pile of the "get this out of our house" stuff.  The rest is in the garage or in the basement.  One bad thing about cleaning like this...parts of the house remain a mess for a short time.
